Like beans and cornbread...

Flowers and art go together like....beans and cornbread.  And if you don't already have that song stuck in your head, by all means have a listen here.  It'll brighten your day and put a pep in your step!

But honestly, I can hardly think of a better pairing than flowers and art - it was just meant to be.  My husband, Jerrod, is a professional artist, I am a floral designer, and truth be told, we're kinda like beans and cornbread, too.   We were high school sweethearts and have been married for 18 years now, and guess what the crazy thing is....?!  We just recently, for the very first time realized that we should collaborate with our flowers and art.  It's almost silly that we hadn't thought of that before!

Anyway, here is a little of what we have come up with so far...  It's been fun and funny (that's a story for another day), and I have to say that I'm kinda loving the results.  Let me know what you think, and I'd love to hear if any of you have ideas for other collaborations!

This bouquet of zinnias from our cutting garden is arranged in a vessel that once belonged to and was painted by the well-known Mississippi artist, Marie Hull!

Everything for this arrangement including the beautiful white Cherokee Rose was foraged one late winter day when Jerrod and I took a walk in the woods on our lunch break.

Our kids get asked to help out every once in a while...  our oldest in the kitchen with burgundy scabiosa and fresh lilac blooms.

This is just a sampling of our first floral/art collaboration.  There's more where that came from, and we're always open to commissions so if you have an idea - hit us up!  We'd love to hear from you.

To see more of Jerrod's work check out his website here!  He's the beans to my cornbread, and I think he's pretty amazing.

Jerrod and I live in Ocean Springs, MS with our three kids where he makes art, and I design weddings and wedding flowers all along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and in the Jackson area.
